KM Polyethylene Round Backer Rod is an ideal non-absorbent compressible backup material inserted into a joint to control depth and create a backstop. This extruded, closed cell, low density polyethylene foam material features a skin-like outer texture and allows proper sealant tooling, proper sealant wetting of the joint surface, temporary sealing in gaps, and yields a proper bond breaker between the backer rod and sealant. The material is chemically inert and highly flexible with excellent resilient properties.
Applications:
Glazing installations, window and door applications, expansion joints, curtain wall joints, log construction, pavement joints, repairs, precast and copings, joint depth control for proper sealant installation
