KM Polyurethane Backer Rod – Open Cell

KM Open Cell Backer Rod is manufactured from open cell medium density polyurethane foam. The product is manufactured in a range of sizes and has excellent compression and recovery properties which is ideal as a backup material. It is inserted into a joint to control depth to create a backstop to allow proper sealant tooling, eliminate sealant bubbling, minimize the amount of sealant required, yield a proper bond breaker between the backer rod and sealant, and is compatible with most sealants.
