The CB-NV Fire Cavity Barrier uses non-combustible stone mineral wool to stop fire spreading through wall and floor cavities. It holds a Non-Combustibility Rating and keeps its fire-resisting performance even in non-ventilated conditions. In addition, a fire-retardant water-shield layer protects the barrier from moisture exposure.
Two Nine Six O makes CB-NV with exclusive RCS (Rapid Centrifugal Spinning) technology. This process creates a very thin, even fibre structure that thermosetting resins and water repellant bond together. Furthermore, the proprietary Pendulum System builds thinner air layers inside the barrier, so it blocks heat flow more effectively.
As a result, CB-NV delivers fire integrity for up to 240 minutes in both vertical and horizontal cavity positions. It fits cavities up to 600 mm wide and needs only a simple friction-fit — no adhesives or special tools required.
Independent labs test CB-NV to BS 476: Part 20 in both vertical and horizontal positions. As a result, it gives proven, long-duration fire compartmentation for façades, floors, and walls.
CB-NV passes the BS 476: Part 4: 1970 non-combustibility test. Two Nine Six O makes it from inorganic stone mineral wool — not an intumescent foam or flexible sealant.
A fire-retardant water-shield layer covers CB-NV, so humidity does not change its performance. Furthermore, it resists vermin and fungi for long-term durability on site.
You can use CB-NV in floors, walls, raised floors, external façades, and weather features. In addition, test teams have checked it with masonry support brackets for complex curtain wall systems.
No adhesives needed. You press CB-NV onto galvanized impaling L-clips at 450 mm centres. It fits horizontally or vertically, so it reduces installation time on site.
CB-NV contains zero HCHO, zero TVOC, zero Global Warming Potential, and zero Ozone Depletion Potential. It is also 100% asbestos-free, so it is safe for occupants and the environment.

CB-NV carries an outstanding environmental profile. It contains no harmful chemicals, and it has no impact on global warming or ozone depletion.
An independent lab tests CB-NV to BS 476: Part 4: 1970. As a result, it earns a non-combustible rating — it does not burn and does not feed a fire.
BS 476: Part 20 measures how long a product resists fire. CB-NV reaches up to 240 minutes in both vertical and horizontal positions, so it suits the most demanding projects.
Test teams have checked CB-NV alongside masonry support brackets. Therefore, it fits complex façade builds that use structural fixings without losing fire performance.
Follow these six steps to install CB-NV correctly, in line with the manufacturer’s specification and BS 476 test conditions.
First, measure the joint width between the façade setting-out line and the masonry wall or slab. This tells you which CB-NV thickness to order.
Next, draw the horizontal line for the CB-NV barrier on the substrate. Follow the approved layout drawing to make sure the position is correct.
Then fix galvanized L-clips (1.5 mm × 50 mm) at intervals no greater than 450 mm centre-to-centre. Fix all clips firmly to the substrate before moving on.
After that, hold the CB-NV barrier flat and push it firmly onto the impaling L-clips. It should sit in a snug friction fit across the full width of the cavity.
Where two CB-NV barriers meet, apply CB-NV PP Tape with at least a 25 mm overlap. This seals every joint and keeps the fire protection continuous.
Finally, fit the façade cladding panels to cover and protect the CB-NV fire barrier system. This completes the installation.

CB-NV reaches up to 240 minutes of fire integrity when teams test it to BS 476: Part 20. This rating covers both vertical and horizontal cavity positions. However, the exact result depends on how the external wall system is built.
Yes. CB-NV passes the BS 476: Part 4: 1970 non-combustibility test. Two Nine Six O makes it from stone mineral wool, so it does not burn or add to a fire.
CB-NV works in cavities from 50 mm to 300 mm wide (tested range). Moreover, the design supports cavities up to 600 mm wide. In all cases, you press it into place by hand — no glue or tools needed.
Follow six steps: first, check the joint width. Next, mark the barrier line. Then fix galvanized L-clips at max. 450 mm centres. After that, push CB-NV onto the clips. Furthermore, seal all joints with CB-NV PP Tape at 25 mm overlap. Finally, fit the façade panels to finish.
You can use CB-NV in floors, walls, under raised floors, external façades, and weather features. It works in both vertical and horizontal positions. In addition, test teams have confirmed it works with masonry support brackets for complex façade builds.
No. A fire-retardant water-shield layer covers CB-NV, so humidity does not change its performance. Furthermore, it resists vermin, fungi, acids, and alkaline chemicals — making it reliable in tough outdoor conditions.
CB-NV contains zero HCHO and zero TVOC. In addition, it has zero Ozone Depletion Potential and zero Global Warming Potential. As a result, it carries an outstanding eco profile. It is also 100% asbestos-free.
CB-NV needs no maintenance after you install it. However, if you plan any changes to the installed system, you must tell the specialist contractor first so they can check the fire protection stays intact.
Use Galvanized Steel Impaling Clips (1.5 mm thick × 50 mm wide) at 450 mm centres. Then seal every butt joint with CB-PP Tape or KM-AL Transition Tape at a 25 mm overlap. This ensures an airtight seal across the whole barrier.
